The first anniversary of Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Programme- 28th December 2017

The first BMT patient at the celebration to mark the completion of one year held at the Razavi Medical Complex of the Apeksha hospital (former Cancer Institute) with Dr. Prasad Abeysinghe and Ms Deepthika Kumari.

BMT Training @ St. Vincent's Hospital, Sydney - 9th February 2015 to 6th June 2015

16 medical staff (4 consultants, 4 medical officers and 8 allied staff) from National Cancer Institute, Maharagama and National Blood Transfusion services, Sri Lanka completed their training at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. They were accommodated at be. Accommodation in Maroubra, Sydney.

BMT Training Fundraiser: Auction (Canberra) - 30th November 2014

The Canberra community, with the help of Australia Sri Lanka Association, organised an auction at the Tamil Senior Citizens Hall in Isaacs, Canberra to raise much needed funds. The proceeds would sponsor 12 medical staff from National Cancer Institute (NCI) Maharagama and National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) Sri Lanka for the BMT training scheduled at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney in 2015. The total funds raised during the auction is AUD 4475.00.

BMT Website Launch - 22nd September 2014

The BMT website was launched by Mrs Annwyn Godwin (Merit Protection Commissioner) at Australian Public Service Commission in the presence of the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Australia, Professor David Ma and Assoc. Professor John Moore from St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and Dr. and Mrs. Ruwan Walpola from Sydney.
